Back into Blogging!!

Well I came back...or at least I'm attempting too. I'm having some extra time during the holidays so I thought I might try to get back into it. No gurauntees for a lot of posts but I'll try my best. ANd comment are nice too!!

To start it off, I thought I'd show you some pics from our Boekee Family Christmas Gathering. We had it on December 2nd, and it was a blast. -

Here's one of my cute brother and sister!! Though they usually don't stand sidewise...after all the effort and time getting it on here, I'm not going to reload it. So turn your head sideways and it should look ok!

Here's one of Jessica and Jason lining up by Mom and (hidden) Dad to get some yummy food!!And Nathan is enjoying a moment on Krissy's lap!!

Ok, so it looks like our slow, slow dial-up connection is being slower than usual (which by the way is very, very, very slow), so I don't think I'm gonna get the pictures up tonight. But I'll try to see if I can come with anything interesting that's been happening in the last couple months of my life. The routine is basically the same as always. School, school, with some Catechism classes, YP, and more school. Grade 12 is actually been one of my lightest high-school years yet. Basically because I had mose of my credits coming into the year, so I didn't take a huge amount of courses. ANd what I did take was mostly elective. I took Health, Economics, Civics, CAnadian History, and English/LIterature. Health was a breeze, I loved it and I"ve been done it for about a month already. Economics is so-so. You have to really stop and thing about all these different situations, and figure out why things happen the way they do, to all different economies. Not really the most interesting subject. I'm doing my last test in that tomorrow. And then Civics. I finished that today. Yeah! Again it's a so-so subject. All about Canadian government, and what each person does, and is allowed to do, and what happens when they do things they're not supposed to do, and so forth. Again not that interesting, at least not to me. And then History. History and English were a bit heavier so I probaly won't get them finished before CHristmas, but I have till the 3rd week of January if I need. History is pretty interesting. It's a slow travel beginning a couple hundred years before the Confederation of Canada and then progressing onward. I think it ends in the mid 1900's. It's an ok subject, a lot of memorization of names and dates, which is basically what history is I guess. And then ENglish - last year I despised literature, but this year I'm liking it better. Each pace (there's 12 paces/booklets in a course) has a little bit of everything: grammar, literature, spelling, everything included unter English. For my reading assignments I have Silas Marner and the Ancient Mariner. I read the 2nd one and it was ok as far as literature goes. I'v read a lot worse. Well I'm sure that was totally boring. But like I said there's not really that much going on. Hopefully we can do something fun during the holidays, though I'm not sure that there's anything fun to do though without snow, but we shall try. Oh some sad news. Our dog of like 15 years - Nicky, died a couple weeks ago. :( We've had her since she was like a year, and she was getting pretty old. She's had like 30 puppies or more in her lifetime (they weren't all born at one time:) and she was pretty old for a dog. SHe's had really bad arthritis the past couple years, and we knew that she was going to die soon. One SUnday morning she lay down on the grass and just laid there for the entire day. THe next day she was gone. My Uncle Martin's dog (which is Nicky's puppy) just had puppies about a month ago. We are probaly going to get one. ANd my Mom has agreed to let it stay in the house for at least the first part!! Yeah!!! The puppies are so cute!! But aren't all baby animals?! OH yeah and some less exciting news our cat had kittens...again. It's the 2nd time this year, and she had some last year too. At the beginning they were adorable. But now they are thoroughly annoying. THey learned what the fridge meant, and everytime you would open it or take some milk or meat out, you would get five little kittens, making these horrible sounds, begging for milk. ANd during meal-time they would meow, and meow till they got what they wanted. Anyway needless to say, they have now been kicked out of their warm, free-range home, and have moved to the cold, frigtening dangerous garage!! Don't you feel sorry for these poor, helpless creatures. If you do call us up immediately. We deliver anywhere in Ontario!! Well I think this is about as much time as I can spend on here, so I better end this. During this time I managed to upload 3 of my 10 CHristmas pictures. THat was fast, eh? Anyway it will have to do for now.

In closing I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, and may you be blessed as you rejoice in the birth of our Saviour.

“While You Were Sleeping”

Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you’re lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight
Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping
Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only SonThe Way, the Truth, the Life had came
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save
Jerusalem, what you have missed
while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping
United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we’re sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we’re lying in the dark
There’s a shout heard ‘cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night
America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping?
Will we be sleeping ?
